Trabecular Metal Monoblock Tibial Components
An optimal combination of material and design
Trabecular Metal Monoblock Tibial Components combine the benefits of Trabecular Metal with the clinically proven geometries of the NexGen® Complete Knee Solution Cruciate Retaining (CR) and NexGen Legacy® Knee Posterior Stabilized (LPS) Tibial Articular Surfaces. The result is a system of nonmodular implants with physical and mechanical properties that closely resemble bone. The implants are compatible with any of the NexGen Instrumentation Systems, making surgeon preference a high priority.
Unique porous structure resembles trabecular bone
Hex-shaped pegs can be press-fit into the tibial surface. With greater than 80% porosity, Trabecular Metal has demonstrated outstanding bone ingrowth capabilities and attachment strength.1 The unique strut configuration of this tantalum metal material provides a high coefficient of friction against bone to enhance initial fixation and stability.
Trabecular Metal not only looks like bone, but it also behaves like bone. Its high compressive strength and low modulus of elasticity are comparable to cancellous bone. These features are what make Trabecular Metal - The Best Thing Next to Bone.
