The NexGen Intramedullary Instrumentation System, based on the concepts established for the Miller/Galante Knee System, is familiar to most surgeons. This instrumentation allows the surgeon to use an intramedullary alignment technique to reestablish lower extremity alignment along the technical axis. Accuracy of resection is facilitated by the use of precise slots in the cut guides.
Accurate Referencing and External Rotation
The Intramedullary Alignment Guide is designed to assist the surgeon in establishing proper alignment and external rotation. The anterior boom helps to visualize the level of the anterior cut, and helps to prevent notching of the anterior cortex.
Precise Femoral Resection
The Intramedullary Femoral Finishing Guide allows for accuracy in the posterior cut, the chamfer cuts, anterior clean up, and the preparation for the trochlear recess and peg holes. Spring screws provide the solid fixation that helps to ensure precise cuts and improve implant fit.
