Zimmer® Periarticular Locking Elbow Plate System
with Distal Posteolateral Humeral, Distal Lateral Humeral, Distal Medial
Humeral, and a Proximal Dorsal Ulnar Locking Plate
This comprehensive system includes a total of five plates for fixation of the distal humerus and proximal ulna (olecranon).
- Distal Posterolateral Humeral
- Distal Lateral Humeral
- Distal Medial Humeral (standard version)
- Distal Medial Humeral (short version)
- Proximal Dorsal Ulnar Plates.
These plate designs are based on the well known periarticular plate contours, with the addition of locking capabilities for better fixation in comminuted fractures or where deficient bone stock or poor bone quality is encountered. Typically, two plates are used for distal humeral fixation, and depending upon the extent of the injury, an additional plate may be used for proximal ulnar/olecranon fixation.
The traditional approach to distal humeral fixation involves the application of two plates
placed at 90° to one another. Acumed advocates placing the plates at 180° to one another with the screws interdigitating to form an arch1. Both approaches have merit, so we have included three distal humeral plates in the system to allow either configuration for fixation of distal humeral fractures. All of the plates include standard locking holes near the joint and ULS holes in the plate shaft. This system is one of the most comprehensive plating system for the elbow on the market today!
- Distal Posterolateral Humeral Plate: 3H – 19H, 72mm – 280mm
- Distal Medial Humeral Plate: 3H – 15H, 78mm – 234mm
- Distal Medial Humeral Plate, Short: 3H – 15H, 74mm – 230mm
- Proximal Ulna Plate: 3H – 15H, 77mm – 233mm
- Distal Lateral Plate (true lateral): 3H – 15H, 86mm – 268mm
